Sonia Doi

Sonia Doi, MD, PhD: Endocrinologist with approximately 30 years of experience in medical research and teaching. Currently occupying the position of President of the following non-profit organizations: United States Spiritist Medical Association (SMA-US), International Spiritist Medical Association (SMA-INT) and Allan Kardec Spiritist Society of Maryland (AKSS-MD). 

 

 


Livia Uehara

Livia Uehara holds a medical degree from ABC Foundation School of Medicine (Faculdade de Medicina do ABC), Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is specialized in Internal Medicine and Hematology with 24 years of experience. Her main area of interest is hematologic diseases and her expertise includes oncology/hematology clinical trials. To pursue her passion on discovering new treatments for cancer patients, she worked in pharmaceutical industries and was dedicated to clinical trial research in early and late-stages of drug development for the past 12 years. Currently, she is in a sabbatical year and is volunteering as the vice-president of United States Spiritist Medical Association (SMA-US).


Leticia Klausner 

Leticia Klausner is an International Medical Graduate. She received her Medical Degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil. Leticia is one of the founding members of the U.S. Spiritist Medical Association and currently its Program Director.

Lino Rodrigues

Lino-RodriguesLino Rodrigues, MD is an Internal Medicine specialist and Gastroenterologist with more than 20 years of clinical experience and more than 15 years working with clinical research for drug development in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Lino is currently serving as the SMA-US Secretary.

 

 

 


Marcos Souto (Treasurer)

Marcos SoutoMarcos Souto is a Mechanical Engineer by training, and obtained his Doctorate in Finance from the George Washington University. He has worked as a financial economist for the IMF since 2004, serving in approximately 30 countries. He is currently serving as the IMF Resident Representative for Angola, since 2019. Marcos has several academic and professional publications in the areas of measurement and management of integrated market and credit risk. His contributions to the Spiritist doctrine include serving as Treasurer for the Allan Kardec Spiritist Society (2007-11), for the SMA-US since 2016 and for the SMA-International since 2022.
